Tournament:

ISSA US Open National Championships    (www.seniorsoftball.org)

Date:

October 18-22rd , 2017 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday for age divisions below 70+)   The 70+, 75+ and 80+ men's teams will start on Wednesday, October 18 and finish on Friday, October 20.  All other men's and women's senior teams begin on Friday.  (NOTE:  The 65+, 70+ and 75+ women will begin on Friday in this event this year.) 

Location:

Nine Synthetic Turf Fields at Grand Park, Market Commons, Pepper Geddings Recreation Center (2),  Carolina Forest Complex (4), South Strand Complex (3) and two fields at Pawleys Island.   (See Addresses of Venues Page)

Teams:

It is estimated that over 130 teams from the USA will be attending to compete for the United States Championships in their division, 

Ticket Prices: Admission to all venues is FREE.
 

Parking

No charge for parking, adequate parking is available at the parks.

Managers Meeting:

A reception and manager check-in for the 70+, 75+ and 80+ men's teams will be held on Tuesday night between 7:00 and 9:00 PM.  A second manager check-in will be held on Thursday night between 7:00 and 9:00 PM for all other managers.  The managers check-in and receive tournament materials. Food will be provided by the City of Myrtle Beach.  The meetings will take play at the Base Recreation Center at 800 Gabreski Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.  (The Recreation Center is about two blocks from the Grand Park softball fields.)

Player Check-in:

During preliminary play at the ball park, senior teams check-in together. Photo ID's (drivers license) are needed for the team check-in.

Tournament Seeding:

The tournament staff will place the teams in brackets and prepare the preliminary schedule which will be posted on the website approximately three days prior to the tournament. The preliminary game record will be used to seed your team into the double elimination finals. The exact format will depend on the number of teams in each division.

First Game: October 18 and 20, the games could begin at 8:00AM each day.  Most divisions will end on Sunday afternoon and the Awards Ceremony will immediately follow the final game. The 70+, 75+ and 80+ men's teams will start on Wednesday, October 18 and finish on Friday, October 20.

Deadline:

Complete Entry and mail Entry Fee by September 18, 2017.  Teams failing to pay the entry fee by the deadline will be moved to the waiting list with others.  (Exceptions only for the benefit of the tournament)

Rosters Due: The ISSA Roster Form should be submitted by September 18 (roster must be turned in at or before the  Managers Meeting or the Team Check-in with original player signatures.  Players arriving late can sign at the check-in or prior to their first game.)  This tournament will be played by ISSA Winter National Rules meaning teams may play with their 2018 Roster.
 

Divisions of Play:

Teams will be placed in skill level divisions based on their ISSA Rating and verified by the tournament staff. Divisions are planned for AA, AAA and Major in each age classification for men (Major Plus will be included if three or more teams enter in an age division). Divisions could be combined for preliminary play but ALL teams will be given the opportunity to play for their rated division championship against similar rated teams. Competition will be included for senior Women's teams beginning at 40 and over and Men's Masters beginning at 40 and over. 

Fees:

The entry fee for all classifications is $550.00.

Souvenirs:

T-shirts and other apparel may be for sale at the park.
