PLANT CITY, FLORIDA USA - Eighteen (18) senior teams from five eastern states have earned a berth in the ISSA/ISF WORLD TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS which has been scheduled for January 26-29, 2012 at Plant City and the Tampa, FL Regional Area. "This event has created much excitment in the senior softball world" offered ISSA Executive Director, RB Thomas, Jr. "At the conclusion of our first qualifying tournament at N. Charleston, SC all the winning team managers said that they planned to accept their berth and play at Tampa. Same thing happened at Drifton, PA, teams were looking for their berth." The list of teams who have qualified for the World Tournament of Champions is maintained on the ISSA Website at www.seniorsoftball.org
Thomas said the organizers were looking to bring together the top ranked teams in their division of play from around the World. Masters and Senior teams from the 126 ISF member countries will be invited. In the United States in addition to the Champions at each ISSA tournament, the National Champions from designated tournaments in each of the major softball associations will be invited. Come November approximately 300 teams will be qualified to enter the event. Those teams that do enter will be playing for all the "bragging rights."
Teams should check the ISSA Tournament Schedule on the Website to view other opportunities to qualify. The next ISSA tournament to qualify teams will be the ISF Senior World Cup at Salem, VA on June 10-12. (Late entries all still being accepted in most divisions.)
